The umpires totally blew it when, in the final tally, they ejected THREE Red Sox managers (two were
replacements) and the starting pitcher (who hadn't HIT any batters) while they did NOTHING to the opposing Tampa pitcher(s) who had hit THREE Red Sox batters or the manager who had ordered it.
The Commissioner, who already knew there was bad blood, and a history of batters being hit, between these two teams...DID NOTHING right from the first game of "plunking the batter" up to, and including, this game. Only an idiot would think there wold be no more shenanigans and he didn't have to issue any warnings to the teams OR the umpires.
THAT'S WHY these things keep going on. What is this...HOCKEY?? Maybe he wants to wait until some player REALLY gets hurt (or worse)? I'm not going to go any further with this and tell them what the solution is, that's what they get paid for. Besides, this is a SPORTS site and these fights are not sports, they are, what I call, "Socio-sports" and have more to do with our society problems than sports. Hopefully the commissioner will help us to reclaim our REAL game of baseball.
By the way Mr. Commissioner, have you noticed that the one common denominator to the years of this "bad blood" between these two teams is the manager, Joe Madden? 'nuf said.....stay tuned
