Gino has the highest points-per-game average over his entire career than any other player in NFL history...7.4 points per game.
Gino appears twice in the top six scoring season in NFL history.
The "special teams" vote for the annual all-star game came about because Gino, as a pass receiver,
was not the best at this position BUT he was the MVP and high scorer in the league 4 out of six seasons.
Gino also did many things OFF the field in Boston. Charities, public appearances and owning a night spot, "The Point After" that provided a forum for the public to meet the athletes. It has been said that, in those early years of the AFL, that Gino did everything for the Patriots but sell pop corn and park cars. It is well known that the AFL was on shakey ground and two other NFL teams had failed in Boston in previous years. If the Patriots failed the entire league would collapse. Gino is as much responsible for the acceptance of the team in Boston as anybody else. That's straight from Will McDonough. Think of it...No Patriots, No NFL as we know it today.
Let your voice be heard if you agree. Bob Kraft has given us a wonderful team but he would not have had the opportunity if not for Gino Cappelletti. Let HIM know it so he can get the ball rolling with the powers to be and get this great asset to our team, city and the entire NFL the recognition he so rightly deserves.
