Although the Celts have lost four games they have all been exciting, competitive and shown promise for good things to come.
Stevens had positive comments to make about the team, their hustle, their commitment and overall attitude both in practice and in the game. Any comments he made about the players were all positive. When asked about rookie "Kelly O" he said he liked his hustle and progress in adapting to the pro game. "I'd like to see him shoot a little more," said Stevens but that will come.
I remember when John Havlicek was a rookie Red Auerbach said, many times, I want him to shoot more often. Eventually, as history has shown, Hondo caught on.
Also, and only us real old timers remember this, in Tommy Heinsohn's rookie pre-season, Red told him he'd fine him if he ever passed up an open 15 footer. Of course Tommy-gun (a well deserved nickname) never needed to be told twice.
Gerald Wallace, a 12 year veteran, is the apparent leader until Rajon Rondo returns and has been performing admirably although he has said he's not sure if that's his role. "I've always led by example," said Wallace but I always give 110% and will continue to do so."
I'm expecting things will eventually iron themselves out and am looking forward to a bright future for the Celtics.....Stay tuned.
